Enable Sift
- Open the Sift app after installing it.
- Open Safari → Settings → Extensions and turn on Sift.
- Allow Sift to access
x.comortwitter.comwhen Safari asks. - Open X's Home timeline and choose Brief or Balanced.
If nothing is being folded
- Make sure you are on the Home timeline. Sift does not currently modify Search, Lists, Profiles, or individual post pages.
- Open Sift's toolbar panel and check that the mode is Brief or Balanced, not All.
- In Safari → Settings → Extensions → Sift, confirm that access to
x.comortwitter.comis allowed. - Reload the Home timeline after changing extension or site permissions.
- Use Reset seen if you want to clear Sift's recent-story history and counters.
What the controls mean
- Brief applies the strongest reduction, including rapid source repetition and obvious low-signal hype.
- Balanced folds close duplicates, repeated links, recently seen stories, and promoted posts.
- All restores the native timeline immediately.
- Show reopens one folded item. Enough today quiets that story for up to 72 hours.
